LULU'S MONSTERS
The main character is Lulu and she struggles with several things. Being pre-teen, having an annoying sister, feeling lonely, being bullied by Alice, who she describes as a monster, and not having the courage to stand up to Alice. You see, Lulu & Alice used to be friends until Lulu told Alice a secret. Typical!
Then there is the relationship with Ingrid, Lulu’s new BFF. Soon into their friendship Lulu writes a love letter to Ingrid.
Lulu has a diary and here you’ll get a lot of insights about Lulu’s feelings.
Lulu also has everyday chapters in which she is SUPER pre-teen. Whenever Lulu experiences something bad with Alice / Ingrid, it affects the family, especially her sister, Nono.
Nono is a side character, but the most important side character. Nono's chapters support Lulu's themes of fear, being bullied, and the LGBTQ+ topic. Nono has chapters called "Slime Time", where she daydreams about stopping a monster and saving “Lulu the cat”, which is about receiving love from her real sister Lulu.

Main themes are bullying, fear & friendship. Secondary themes are sister love, self love, having dark thoughts & LGBTQ+.
The target group is 10-12 year old kids, 4th & 5th grade, parents, or adults who like graphic novels.
I started the book in December 2019. Originally I made an English, a Danish, and a German version of the book. It has been through 2 revisions and a Danish school class. Part of the German version has later been read in a Swiss school class and the English version has been read by friends, family & nice helpful strangers.
I have now decided to self-publish, and if you go to my Webshop, you can buy the English version.
All this will get me closer to my goal; getting the book out to kids, so they can read it, have new thoughts about these topics and hopefully talk to others about them.
PS This is a one-woman business, and I print in small batches at a time. This means that you can help me! How? When reading my book, you will probably find some spelling mistakes and other stuff, that I didn't notice. Please let me know and I will add the correction before my next print plot. This way you can help me make the book even better than it already is.
Thanks for helping.
